Kenney's article is a good example of clear, careful thinking. Merritt's argument seems decent on first glance and makes several good points. Kenney reminds us to read carefully and points out some serious flaws.
I am afraid that many in my generation are overcome by sloppy arguments that appeal merely on an emotional level.
